The Summit Lodge offers personally hosted accommodation and hosts a maximum of three couples or 6 people on twin-share basis, offering purpose built guest rooms with ensuite facilities. The Lodge is a perfect venue for a ‘girls’ weekend away or somewhere for you and your friends to celebrate a birthday - or just for pure indulgence!

The Summit Lodge provides quality accommodation with king/twin single beds, en-suite bathrooms and individual heat pumps providing warmth in winter and cool air conditioning in the hot Wairarapa summers. Each guest room features double glazing, thick pile carpet, under-tile heating in the bathroom, large fluffy towels and bathrobes and ranch-slider doors leading to a private patio with views of rolling hills and farmland.

Additionally, each room has a clock radio with an i-pod docking station for connecting your favourite music or podcasts. There is also an i-pod docking station connected to the guest lounge home theatre system. There is internet access in each guest room.

Wheelchair access throughout the lodge; the Rimu Room also has a wheelchair-accessible bathroom.

Secure, undercover parking is available for motorbikes and bicycles if required.

The Lodge is child-free – we do not cater for anyone under 18.

For use exclusively by guests there is a large lounge with home theatre system and 52” screen, leather recliner chairs, an open fire and air conditioning. The lounge opens out to gardens and an enclosed courtyard. We provide Sky TV and an extensive DVD and music collection, and you are welcome to bring your own selection on i-pod and plug it into the docking station! There is a kitchenette in the lounge with complimentary tea and coffee making facilities as well as soft drinks, microwave and fridge.

An 8-seater spa pool is set in the enclosed courtyard – sit out at night and gaze at the night sky - there is very little ambient light in Gladstone so the stars are very bright. We also have a petanque court, extensive gardens, alpacas, and chooks.

Accommodation includes breakfast; other meals are available on request. We provide informal dining in open plan farmhouse-style kitchen-dining room complete with open fire which opens out into the enclosed courtyard, or eat in the courtyard on Gladstone's balmy summer evenings. Or you might like to request a TV dinner whilst watching the big game or a movie …

All food at The Summit Lodge is home cooked and wherever possible we use local suppliers if we haven’t grown it ourselves. We can cater for those with food allergies or preferences, e.g. vegetarian, dairy-free, gluten-free etc. Tracey and Jim are both keen cooks offering a range of tasty home-cooked meals. Desserts are Jim’s speciality – ask about his pear and Galliano tart, sticky date pudding or crème brulee …

Hot drinks and soft drinks are complimentary; beer and a range of local wines are available for purchase. We can produce café-style espresso coffee.

Smoking is not permitted anywhere at The Summit Lodge.
